COURTESY OF: Commission on Filipino Overseas, Republic of the Philippines (www.cfo.gov.ph), January 2009 "The Lingkod sa Kapwa Pilipino (LINKAPIL) Program or Link for Philippine Development seeks a broader and deeper partnership between overseas Filipinos and Filipinos on the home country based on a common desire to promote the collective good of people and contribute to national development. Conceptualized by CFO in 1989, LINKAPIL was developed as a mechanism to tap the potentials of overseas Filipinos to support education, health and welfare, livelihood, and small-infrastructure projects. Assistance through the LINKAPIL Program may be monetary or in-kind, in the form of donations, grants or subsidies. LINKAPIL projects are fully documented and closely monitored by CFO through a monitoring and feedback mechanism. This program feature aims to encourage transparency and boost confidence among all parties involved in the project.... Goals and Objectives LINKAPIL provides a system for overseas Filipinos who desire to do their share in serving fellow Filipinos by supporting various activities and projects in the Philippines. It intends to facilitate the flow of assistance from overseas to specific beneficiaries in the Philippines. The LINKAPIL Program aims to:
